A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE TO CEASE PAYING AND
REPORTING THE VALUE OF EMPLOYER PAID
MEMBER CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE PUBLIC
EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM FOR
EMPLOYEES COVERED BY THE ORANGE CITY
FIRE FIGHTERS, LOCAL 2384, INTERNATIONAL
ASSOCIATION OF FIREFIGHTERS, AFL -CIO.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Orange has the authority to implement
Government Code Section 20636(c) (4) pursuant to Section 20691;
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Orange has a written labor policy or
agreement which specifically ceases the practice of the City paying for part of the normal
member contributions, and reported as additional compensation for employees covered by
the Orange City Fire Fighters, Local 2384, International Association of Firefighters, AFL -
CIO;
WHEREAS, one of the steps in the procedures to comply with Section 20691 is the
adoption by the City Council of the City of Orange of a Resolution to cease paying and
reporting the value of said Employer Paid Member Contributions (EPMC);
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Orange has identified the following
conditions for the purpose of its election to cease paying EPMC;
This benefit shall apply to all employees covered by the by the Orange City
Fire Fighters, Local 2384, International Association of Firefighters, AFL -CIO
The City shall pay 0% of the PERS Member Contribution and report the same
0% as compensation earnable.
The effective date of this Resolution shall be November 6, 2011.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Orange elects to cease paying and reporting the value of EPMC, as set forth above.
ADOPTED this 25 day of October, 2011.
