RES-10600 Loyal Service Appreciation For Pam PropstRESOLUTION NO. 10600 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO PAM PROPST OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT FOR TWENTY - TWO YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE. WHEREAS, Pam Propst began her career with the City of Orange on August 21, WHEREAS, initially, Pam was hired through an outside temporary agency for eight months. She became a City employee in August 1989 as an Administrative Clerk I. In 1990, she was promoted to a Public Services Clerk. By 1998, Pam was reclassified as a Permit Technician and reclassified again in 2009 as a Senior Permit Technician. WHEREAS, throughout her career in Orange, Pam has handled a fair share of the more difficult and complex projects for the Building Division. She has significantly contributed to issuing multifaceted permits for development projects such as the Chapman University Braden Hall, Chapman University School of Film and Television, Archstcne Gateway Apartments, Citrus Grove Apartments, Manchester Walk and Maple Walk, just to mention a few. WHEREAS, she has certainly lived up to her 1989 resume in which she writes "I would be an asset to the City of Orange because of my ability to work well with the public and fellow employees. I believe humor, understanding, and hard work go hand in hand in the workplace." WHEREAS, Pam has been an incredible asset to the City of Orange. She grew up in the area and seemed to know many of the local customers. Her knowledge, resourcefulness, and organizational skills have been exemplary. And beyond that, she always treats staff and the public with enthusiasm, courtesy, humor, friendliness and genuineness. Her easy going attitude and helpfulness with the public has been a great asset to the front counter. WHEREAS, she will be especially missed in the Community Development Department. She was always ready to share helpful medical and home remedy advice, be that for a human or an animal. Pam was the mixology expert in the department and she was known to enjoy a nice, cool cocktail on the weekends. She was the Heloise of cleaning ideas and kept the office stocked with "Awesome" for every cleaning need. Her infectious laugh would make you smile when you heard it. WHEREAS, upon her retirement, Pam and her husband Bruce will be able to continue their love of traveling in their recreational vehicle. She will also be able to spend more time with her family and especially her two grandsons. And since she is a resident of Orange, she will continue to be involved in the issues and concerns of the City. WHEREAS, her outgoing personality will sincerely be missed. She has made numerous friends and earned the respect of residents, contractors, architects, business owners and all others doing business in Orange. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Orange that Pam Propst be congratulated for her more than 22 years of loyal and dedicated service to the City of Orange.
