A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR
THE ORANGE COUNTY (OC) PUBLIC WORKS
APPLICATION TO RECEIVE MEASURE M2
FUNDS FOR THE LINCOLN AVENUE WIDENING
OVER SANTA ANA RIVER.
WHEREAS, The Lincoln Avenue Bridge over the Santa Ana River is in need of
widening to improve traffic flow on this critical arterial going in an east west direction; and
WHEREAS, currently, OC Public Works has in its budget 5.1 million dollars of
Prop 1B funding for this purpose; and
WHEREAS, OC Public Works intends to apply for OCTA's CTFP Measure M2
Regional Capacity Program funds; and
WHEREAS, CTFP grant program guidelines require that if a project includes more
than one jurisdiction, one agency shall act as a lead agency and must provide a resolution of
support from the other agencies; and
WHEREAS, a section of Lincoln Avenue between the Lincoln Avenue Bridge and
Batavia Street falls within the incorporated area of the City of Orange; and
WHEREAS, the widening of the Lincoln Avenue Bridge and the approach between
the Bridge and Batavia Street will benefit the traveling public and improve circulation on this
arterial.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Orange City Council
supports OC Public Works efforts for obtaining Measure M2 Grant funding for the Lincoln
Avenue widening over Santa Ana River; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to cause this Resolution to be recorded in the Office of the Orange County Recorder.
