RES-10707 Temporary Public Street ClosuresRESOLUTION NO. 10707 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE TEMPORARILY CLOSING SECTIONS OF PUBLIC STREETS FOR APPROVED SPECIAL EVENTS. WHEREAS, Vehicle Code Section 21101(e) authorizes cities to close portions of streets for celebrations and local special events when, in the opinion of the City Council, the closing is necessary for the safety and protection of persons who are to use that portion of the street during the temporary closing; and WHEREAS, the International Street Fair Committee, the Community Services Department, and the Rotary Club of Orange Sunrise, have requested temporary street closures to accommodate several special events in the streets. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Orange as follows: CITY OF ORANGE'S 125th BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION Section I That Chapman Avenue be closed from Lemon Street easterly to Grand Street; and Glassell Street from Almond Avenue northerly to Maple Avenue be closed from 5:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. — Saturday — April 6, 2013. Section II That before said closure shall occur; the City of Orange Community Services Department with assistance from the Orange Police and Public Works Departments shall provide all signing, barricades and traffic control necessary for the closure acceptable to the City. Section III City of Orange Community Services Department shall notify area residents, businesses and OCTA of the event and temporary street closure in accordance with the Police Department's directions. INTERNATIONAL STREET FAIR — INTERNATIONAL STREET FAIR COMMITTEE Section I That Chapman Avenue be closed from Lemon Street easterly to Grand Street; and Glassell Street from Almond Avenue northerly to Maple Avenue be closed from 7:00 P.M. Thursday - August 29, 2013 thru 6:00 A.M. — Monday — September 2, 2013. Section II That before said closure shall occur; International Street Fair Committee shall comply with all terms and conditions pertaining to Agreement No. 1071. Section III That International Street Fair Committee shall notify area residents and businesses of the event and temporary street closure in accordance with the conditions pertaining to Agreement No. 1071. TREATS IN THE STREETS AUTUMN FESTIVAL — CITY OF ORANGE — COMMUNITY SERVICES Section I That the southeast quadrant of the Plaza be closed from 5 A.M. — 11:30 P.M. — Thursday — October 24, 2013. Section II That Chapman Avenue be closed from Lemon Street easterly to Grand Street; and Glassell Street from Almond Avenue northerly to Maple Avenue be closed from 1:00 P.M. to 11:30 P.M. — Thursday — October 24, 2013. Section III That before said closure shall occur; the City of Orange Community Services Department with assistance from Orange Police and Public Works Departments shall provide all signing, barricades and traffic control necessary for the closure acceptable to the City. Section IV The City of Orange Community Services Department shall notify area residents, businesses, and OCTA of the event and temporary street closure and parking removal in accordance with the Police Department's directions. VETERAN'S TRIBUTE — CITY OF ORANGE — COMMUNITY SERVICES Section I That Atchison Street from Chapman Avenue to Maple Avenue be closed from 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. — Monday — November 11, 2013. Section II That before said closure shall occur; the City of Orange Community Services Department with assistance from Orange Police and Public Works Departments shall provide all signing, barricades and traffic control necessary for the closure acceptable to the City. Section III The City of Orange Community Services Department shall notify Ruby's Diner and OCTA of the event and temporary street closure and parking removal in accordance with the Police Department's directions. TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY — CITY OF ORANGE — COMMUNITY SERVICES Section I That the southeast quadrant of the Plaza be closed from 3 P.M. — Saturday — December 7 through 10 A.M. — Monday — December 9, 2013. Section II That Chapman Avenue be closed from Lemon Street easterly to Grand Street; and Glassell Street from Almond Avenue northerly to Maple Avenue be closed from 5:00 A.M. thru 11:30 P.M. Sunday — December 8, 2013. 2 Section III That before said closure shall occur; the City of Orange Community Services Department with assistance of the Orange Police and Public Works Departments shall provide all signing, barricades and traffic control necessary for the closure acceptable to the City. Section IV The City of Orange Community Services Department shall notify area residents, businesses and OCTA of the event and temporary street closure in accordance with the Police Department's directions. AUTO SHOW — ROTARY CLUB OF ORANGE SUNRISE Section I That Chapman Avenue be closed from Lemon Street easterly to Grand Street; and Glassell Street from Almond Avenue northerly to Maple Avenue be closed on Sunday — April 20, 2014, from 4:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. Section II That before said closure shall occur; the Rotary Club of Orange Sunrise shall comply with the terms and conditions of Agreement No. 5541. Section III The Rotary Club of Orange Sunrise shall notify area residents and businesses of the event and temporary street closure in accordance with the conditions pertaining to Agreement No. 5541.
