A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE ESTABLISHING THE CITY
COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING DAYS AND
TIMES.
WHEREAS, Government Code Section 54954 requires the City Council to take a
formal action to establish the meeting time for regularly scheduled meetings; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Orange recently found that the days and
times of the regularly scheduled meetings should be amended to allow for greater public
participation and enhance the efficiency of the City's ability to conduct the public's business;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Orange adopted Ordinance 12 -13,
amending the Orange Municipal Code to allow the City Council to establish the days and times
of its regularly scheduled meetings by resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Orange hereby establishes that the regularly scheduled meeting of the City Council shall be
held on the second Tuesday of each month and shall convene at the hour of 6:00 p.m. and
continue until adjourned by a majority vote. In the event any such Tuesday is a legal holiday,
the City Council meeting shall convene the following day at 6:00 p.m.
FURTHERMORE, the City Council of the City of Orange establishes that any
necessary closed session shall begin at 5:00 p.m. preceding the regularly scheduled meeting.
