ADMINISTRATIVE SESSION
May 21, 2012

Chair Steiner opened the Administration Session of the Planning Commission Meeting at
6:57 p.m.
Chair Steiner stated there was one item on the Agenda. He stated that Commissioner
Cathcart was recused from the item's presentation.
Associate Planner, Robert Garcia, stated the item was on the consent calendar and it
could be approved without discussion. There was one correction, the Tentative Tract
Map had been withdrawn, as it was not a requirement. The Resolution before them had
made no reference to the map.
Chair Steiner stated when he was a member of the Board of Supervisors many times the
consent items would be pulled. On the item before them if no one was opposed they
could just take a vote.
There was no further discussion.
Administrative Session adjourned @ 7:00 p.m.

REGULAR SESSION
Consent Calendar:
(1) TENTATIVE TRACT MAP 0030 -11; MAJOR SITE PLAN REVIEW 0648-
11 AND DESIGN REVIEW COMMITTEE 4602 -11 — NATIONAL OIL
WELL VARCO
A proposal for the renovation of an existing industrial site, removal of multiple storage
buildings and construction of two industrial buildings resulting in 27,500 additional
square feet. The DRC heard this project on May 2, 2012 and recommended approval to
the Planning Commission by a vote of 4 -0 and one recusal (Commissioner Cathcart).
Chair Steiner stated there was one consent item before the Commission and asked for
discussion or a motion.
Commissioner Grangoff made a motion to approve Major Site Plan Review No. 0648 -11
and DRC No. 4602 -11 - National Oil Well Varco subject to the conditions contained in
the Staff Report.
SECOND: Commissioner Gladson
AYES: Commissioners Gladson, Grangoff and Steiner
NOES: None
ABSENT: Commissioners Buttress & Cathcart
MOTION CARRIED

Commissioner Gladson made a motion for adjournment to the next regular scheduled
meeting of the Planning Commission on Monday, May 21, 2012.
