RES-11027 Transportation Funding ProgramRESOLUTION NO. 11027 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE APPROVING THE SUBMITTAL OF FUNDING APPLICATIONS TO THE ORANGE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY FOR FUNDING UNDER THE COMPREHENSIVE TRANSPORTATION FUNDING PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the City of Orange desires to implement the transportation improvements listed below; and WHEREAS, the City of Orange has been declared by the Orange County Transportation Authority to meet the eligibility requirements to receive revenues as part of the Measure M2 Fair Share" funds; and WHEREAS, the City's Circulation Element is consistent with the County of Orange Master Plan of Arterial Highways; and WHEREAS, the City of Orange will provide matching funds for each project as required by the Orange County Comprehensive Transportation Funding Programs Guidelines; and WHEREAS, the Orange County Transportation Authority intends to allocate funds for transportation improvement projects within the incorporated cities and the County; and WHEREAS, the City of Orange will not use Measure M2 funds to supplant Developer Fees or other commitments; and WHEREAS, the City must include all projects funded by Net Revenues in the seven - year Capital Improvement Program as part of the Measure M2 Ordinance eligibility requirement; and WHEREAS, the City authorizes a formal amendment to the seven -year Capital Improvement Program to add projects approved for funding upon approval from the Orange County Transportation Authority Board of Directors; and WHEREAS, the City of Orange supports the City of Irvine in the submittal of the Main Street Corridor Signal Synchronization project; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Orange delegates signature authority to the Director of Public Works or his designee to facilitate the delivery of the projects. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Orange hereby approves that the Orange County Transportation Authority allocate funds in the amounts specified in the City's applications from the Comprehensive Transportation Funding Programs. Said funds shall be matched by funds from the City of Orange as required and shall be used as supplemental funding to aid the City in the improvement of the following projects: Main Street Traffic Signal Synchronization Project.
