RES-11158 Report by OFD Regarding Certain Annual InspectionsRESOLUTION NO. 11158
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ORANGE ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT
OF A REPORT MADE BY THE ORANGE CITY FIRE
DEPARTMENT REGARDING THE PERFORMANCE
OF CERTAIN REQUIRED ANNUAL INSPECTIONS.
VHEREAS,existing law requires the chief of any city or county fire department or district
providing fire protection services and his or her authorized representatives to inspect every
building used as a public or private school within his or her jurisdiction, for the purpose of
enforcing specified building standards,not less than once each year; and
HEREAS, existing law requires every city or county fire department or district
providing fire protection services that is required to enforce specified building standards to
annually inspect certain structures,including hotels,motels,lodging houses,and apartment houses,
for compliance with building standards, as provided; and
WHEREAS, the State of California has added Section 13146.4 to the Health and Safety
Code requiring every fire department or fire district required to perform such annual inspections
to report annually to its administering authority on its compliance with conducting those annual
inspections.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Orange acknowledges the staff
report received from the Orange City Fire Department in compliance with Health and Safety Code
Section 13146.4.
