The remaining portions of the house have also since been stuccoed. Since the 1982 survey, this structure has been altered to make the storefront a little more compatible. Altered as of 2005: Windows; Applied stucco; Addition(s); and Infilled/altered porch. The original building permit was issued for this house in 1905 and was so stated in the Orange News. It was issued to Hattie Vonelda. By 1907, T. M. and Sadie Shadel resided in the house. Mr. Shadel was a salesman. By 1919, the house was owned by Dr. James Crawford who lived here for several years. Mr. Crawford was born and educated in Pennsylvania and later served in the Spanish American War. He came to Orange in 1916 where he had an active medical practice and was active also in the Methodist Church, Masons, Elks and the Odd Fellows.
