The fire apparatus is distributed as 46,000 pounds on the tandem rear axles and 22,000 pounds on the front axle. The fire access roadway shall be designed, constructed and maintained to provide all weather driving capabilities. See attached letter on sheet A-1, wet-stamped and signed by the registered engineer certifying that any new road way meets the 68,000 pound all weather requirement. PAVING LEGEND shown on this Fire Master Plan meeting this criteria shall be as shown below: 6" thick poured in place concrete with @4 rebar @ 18"o.c. over 6" compacted gravel base 4" Asphalt paving over 6" Gravel Base 4" x 8" Ackerstone concrete pavers over 4" compacted gravel base over 12" road base HORSE TRAIL : 6" Compacted decomposed granite over compacted sub grade 2. Provide and maintain a minimum 5 foot wide fire access walkway to all openings and egress doors, on the first floor exterior walls, required by the CBC and/or CFC. 3. Fire access walkways shall be a level solid surface, unobstructed by trees or shrubs and shall consist of a surface that lends itself to safe use during building evacuation, firefighting and rescue efforts. Alternative surfaces (i.e., decomposed granite, gravel, grass etc.) are evaluated by the fire code official for acceptance on a case by case basis. See notes and dimensions on this plan for additional information 4. All existing public fire hydrants along Santiago Canyon Road within 400 feet of the exterior walls to the new Maintenance Building are shown and noted on the plan. Distances of the new fire hydrants to the new building exterior walls are also noted and shown on this plan. 5. The existing Fire Flow at Existing Fire Hydrant #2 is shown on sheet A-1. 6. The required fire flow in accordance with the CFC Appendix B, Table B105.1 (2) for this building shall be 1,750 GPM as shown on sheet A-1 . A 50% reduction in the required fire flow, to a minimum of 1,500 gpm, is allowed for this building because it is provided with an automatic fire sprinkler system as specified in NFP A 13. 7. The required fire flow for the two new fire hydrants 'A' and 'B shall be 1,500 gpm 8. The proposed new Maintenance Building is required to be protected by an automatic fire sprinkler system installed in accordance with NFP A 13 as required by the City of Orange Ordinance 8-16 9. A fire department connection will be part of the fire sprinkler system design. The following requirements are applicable to the new structure and must be considered relative to the installation of the fire sprinkler system. Additionally, the information is shown on the Fire Master Plan on this sheet. a. The fire department connection shall not be affixed to the building; b. The fire department connection shall be located at least 40 feet away from the building; c. The fire department connection shall be located on the address side of the building; d. The fire department connection shall be located within 40 feet of a hydrant on the same side of the street as the hydrant; e. The fire department connection shall not provide pressure to an on-site hydrant. f. The location of the fire department connection shall be approved by the Fire Department. 10. Key boxes and key switches (Knox devices) shall be provided to ensure that immediate access for the Orange City Fire Department at the following locations: a. The main entry to buildings equipped throughout with a fire alarm system. b. Doors and pedestrian gates to other areas identified by the Fire Department. c. Vehicular gates. 11. Trees planted along the fire access roadway and/or firefighter required walkway shall not impede the required minimum 5'0" walkway width or the required fire apparatus vertical clearance of 13 '-6". The trees should be a type that the natural growth pattern would allow the required vertical clearance without reliance on regular maintenance of the tree canopies. 12. The architectural, civil and landscape drawings have been coordinated such that information relative to fire access roadway widths, required vertical clearances and location of fire protection devices (FDC's, BFD' s and fire hydrants) are shown in a similar manner. 13. At a minimum, deferred submittals / permits will be required at building permits for the following: - Underground Fire Line - Fire Sprinkler System - Fire Sprinkler Monitoring System - Above Ground Fuel Storage Tanks. 14. A Wet Signed letter or report shall be provided by the Project Geotechnical Engineer, shall contain details including load bearing all weather and design for all proposed surfaces to be utilized by the Fire Dept. prior to approval of the Grading Permit. 65'-0" 365' 340' 295'295' 445 ' 4 0 ' - 0 " M i n i m u m 20'-0"40' -0 "18'-0"Radius 45'-0"Radius297.93'N89°57'05"W28'-6" 30'-0" H O R S E T R A I L New Internment Area New Single Story Cemetery Maintenance Building and Office Building Shown shaded 6,480 s.f. 25'30'-0"Min.36'-0" 9'-0"9'-0"9'-0"9'-0"18'-0" 9'-0"9'-0"9'-0"9'-0"18'-0"18'-0"9' - 0 " 9' - 0 " 9' - 0 " 9' - 0 " 9' - 0 " 9' - 0 " 9' - 0 " 9' - 0 "25'-0"32'1 3 7 ' - 4 "108'76'3 2 ' - 0 " 1 0 5 ' - 4 " 1 5 ' S e t b a c k 20'30'94'-0"26'-0" 5'-0" Mi n . 5'-0" Min .25'-0"16'1 2 ' - 0 " 50' 50' 50' 50' 50' 50' 50' Steel Carport with Cantilevered columns with 4:12 sloping roof with tile roof to match maintenance building Steel Bollards for Fuel Tank Protection Keystone Retaining Wall NEW Keystone Retaining Wall EXISTING FIRE HYDRANT EXISTING FIRE HYDRANT New Fire Hydrant 'A' New Fire Hydrant 'B' New 20'-0" Wide Asphalt Fire Access Drive New Concrete Drive Apron 6" Wide Concrete Curbs each side of new Fire Access Drive Four new removable bollards to prevent unauthorized vehicles from entering trail Pedestrian Gate See Elevation on sheet A-12 Pedestrian Gate See Elevation on this sheet This roof area cantilevered Existing Painted Crosswalk Striping Existing 14' wide asphalt trail to remain unchanged Existing Chain Link Gate to Remain in Place Existing Corral Fence to Remain in Place Existing Chain Link Fence to Remain in Place Recreational Use Easement See Alta Sheets 1 and 2 Slope and Incidental Purpose Easement Sheet Alta Sheets 1 and 2 Temporary Construction Easement Drainage and Incidental Purpose Easement.
