1 . SUBJECT
Purchase of Fire Department uniforms and accessories from LineGear Fire & Rescue
Equipment.
2. SUMMARY
LineGear Fire & Rescue Equipment will supply uniform attire and accessory purchases
through a Cooperative Purchasing Agreement for Fiscal Year 2019-2020.
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION
Approve the purchase of Fire Department uniforms and accessories from LineGear Fire
& Rescue Equipment in an amount not to exceed $80,000 for Fiscal Year 2019-2020.
4. FISCAL IMPACT
The total expenditure for this purchase is $80,000 and will be funded through General
Fund (100).
5. STRATEGIC PLAN GOALS

b. Provide staffing and resources to deliver services that ensure public safety.
6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
Fire department employees are required to wear a uniform to be identified as a public
safety authority in society and a source of assistance in an emergency, crisis, or other
time of need. Fire suppression and fire prevention personnel receive an annual uniform
allowance to use at their discretion.
Orange City Fire reviews their uniform supplier annually and assesses needs based
on price, quality, and customer service. The department has determined the best
vendor to meet all criteria is LineGear Fire & Rescue Equipment (LineGear). The

company serves the needs of fire, rescue and emergency medical transport
professionals and has been in business for fifteen years. LineGear offers an extensive
selection of products and brands, competitive pricing, convenient online ordering, and
alteration services to meet the Department's needs.
The procurement of uniforms and duty gear will be acquired through a Cooperative
Purchasing Agreement with LineGear for a total amount not to exceed $80,000.
