1. SUBJECT
Purchase of support agreement from Sidepath, Inc. for the Civic Center storage area
network.
2. SUMMARY
The support agreement for the Civic Center storage area network expired on January 31,
2019. This agreement will extend support agreement, which includes software support
and 24/7 hardware replacement, for one year.
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION
Approve the purchase of the support agreement from Sidepath, Inc. in the amount of
$40,689.48.
4. FISCAL IMPACT
The total expenditure for this purchase is $40,689.48 and will be funded through the
Information Technology Operating Fund (780).
5. STRATEGIC PLAN GOALS
Goal 4: Provide outstanding public service.
c: Enhance technology to improve public accessibility to information and services.
6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
Last year, the City upgraded the Civic Center storage area network, which expanded its
capacity. The purchase included software support as well as 24/7 hardware replacement
with a guaranteed four hour response time. Hardware replacements include vendor setup
and installation in the event of a failure.
The support agreement expired on January 31, 2019. The City has 30 days after the
expiration of the agreement to renew without incurring a reinstatement fee. This
agreement would extend support of the storage area network through January 31, 2020.

Note: Dell Compellent has transitioned to a different Support Renewal structure as follows:
1) "Base" Items - Renewal pricing for hardware will only show support pricing for Compellent "base" items, which
include controllers, enclosures and NAS gateways. This support pricing will cover the associated drives and 10
cards within the "base" items, as applicable.
2) Support quotes are valid up to the date the system's support expires.
3) If the support has expired, customer will not receive support when they call into Compellent Copilot Support
Services.
4) Once the support has expired, the renewal date will begin when Compellent has processed a purchase order.
Back -dating to the support expiration date is no longer available.
5) Reinstatement fees will be applied to any Support Contract that has expired for more than 30 days.
6) Renewal pricing only covers items that are "in use" at the time of quote generation.
Coverage Type is: Zone 1, ProSupport' 24x7 w/ Priority On -Site (4 hour)
Terms and Conditions are identical to those currently in force.
