07.02 City Attorney Notice of RetirementDear Mayor and Councilmembers: Please accept this letter as my formal notice to you that I will be retiring from the City of Orange and service to this City Council effective March 8, 2019. I was hired by the City of Orange as an Assistant City Attorney on June 14, 1994 and it has been my honor and pleasure to serve the City Council, city staff and the city's residents for these last almost 25 years. For the last 6 %2 years I have had the opportunity to serve you as City Attorney. This is a position that I have come to embrace and enjoy and I hope, in your eyes, performed competently. This does not come without some hesitation as I still enjoy coming to work every day and working with you and especially my staff around me, however, I believe the time is right so that my wife and I can take advantage of our good health in retirement. I will be remaining in the area and will always be available to provide any assistance I can to you, city staff and my successor. I wanted to provide you with as much notice as possible so that you could have time to consider my successor and provide minimal disruption to the office. I know I will miss coming to work every day, but I am also comfortable knowing the time is right both personally and professionally. With warm regards, W VWIW hers City Attorney ITEM: -1• `- DATE OF MEETING: 611.1 ORANGE CIVIC CENTER 300 E. CHAPMAN AVE. ORANGE, CA 92866 • PRPRED ON RECYCLED PAPER
