DISCUSSION and BACKGROUND After review of the current vehicle replacement list, it was determined that the purchase of two four-wheel drive Utility Crew Cab Pickups are needed for the Orange Fire Department. The first Utility will be outfitted as a BC Command Unit with Code 3 lighting, light bar, required electronics and equipment to manage multiple resources responding to an incident, including but not limited to a multiple agencies response. The second Utility will be outfitted to the current OFD Crew Cab 4wd Pickup standards used for local and multi -state response. This includes Code 3 lighting, light bar, 800 MHz radio and ancillary equipment. • One Battalion Chief Command Unit V 1781, Crew Cab 4wd Pickup. • One standard Utility V 1779, Crew Cab 4wd Pickup. Bid No. 189-08 was advertised and distributed by our Purchasing Department following the normal procurement process. Two bidders responded to the bid request. Selman Chevrolet was the lowest qualified bidder on the Chevrolet Crew Cab 4wd Pickups. Selman Chevrolet 2 Crew Cab 4wd Pickups for OFD $105,588 Additional funds have been set aside within the Vehicle Replacement Fund in the amount noted below for required outfitting as outlined in the aforementioned discussion. Any additional funds for outfitting will be provided by OFD. Equipment provided by 911 Vehicle is being procured using a Cooperative Bidding Process. Other ancillary additional equipment will be provided by the lowest qualified vendor.
