03.07 Traffic Striping and Markings 3rd AmendmentThird Amendment to Agreement with BC Traffic Specialist for installation of traffic striping, pavement markings, and raised pavement markers at various locations within the City of Orange. 2. SUMMARY BC Traffic Specialist was awarded the contract, on a competitive basis, to perform traffic striping for the City in September 2015. The contract allows annual renewals for up to three years based on a mutual agreement. This is the third renewal to extend the contract and increase the total compensation in an amount not -to -exceed $142,653. 3. RECOMMENDED ACTION Approve Third Amendment to Agreement 6260 and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute on behalf of the City. 4. FISCAL IMPACT The total expenditure for this agreement is $142,653 and will be funded through General Fund (100). 5. STRATEGIC PLAN GOAL(S) 1. Provide for a safe community: b. Policy 1.6: Maintain and repair roadways and sidewalks as necessary to improve circulation and safety. 7. DISCUSSION and BACKGROUND In September 2015, BC Traffic Specialist was awarded a contract on a competitive basis for the installation of traffic striping, pavement markings, and raised pavement markers at various locations within the City of Orange. The contract has the option for annual extensions up to three years, as agreed upon by both parties. This is the third contract extension. The original contract allows for an increase in the total compensation not -to -exceed 2% of the preceding year. The total compensation for this Third Amendment will be $142,653. This amendment extends the repainting and installation of traffic striping for a one-year, terminating on October 2, 2019. The contractor, per the terms of the agreement, has requested price adjustments to the unit prices, capped at 2% for this Third Amendment. Staff recommends extending the BC Traffic Specialist contract until October 2, 2019. 8.
