Approval of payment to Southern California Edison (SCE) for Project SP -4016; Villareal Drive
Southern California Edison (SCE) Service Undergrounding, for electrical service to Reservoir
No.2.
2. SUMMARY
SCE submitted a payment request of two invoices in the total amount of $62,292.21 for the design
and installation services of Villareal Drive SCE Service Undergrounding Project.
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION
1) Authorize the appropriation of $65,000 from the Water Fund (600) unreserved fund balance to
expenditure account number 600.5011.56510.20395, Water Fund - Villareal Drive SCE Service
Underground Project.
2) Approve payment of $65,000 for the design and installation of undergrounding electrical
services to Reservoir No.2
14. FISCAL IMPACT
The total expenditure for this project is $65,000 and will be funded in Villareal Drive SCE Service
Underground Project (20395) through the Water Fund (600).

7. DISCUSSION and BACKGROUND
The New Home Company, LLC (Marywood Residential Development) has completed the
undergrounding of overhead power lines on Villareal in front of its development. An additional
segment of overhead power line serves Reservoir No.2 and is the City's responsibility to pay. SCE
has completed the design for the said segment and has submitted a payment request of two invoices
for design and installation services in a total amount of $62,292.21. The construction by SCE will
start upon pending the receipt of payment. The work includes undergrounding the overhead line,
removing two existing power poles next to the Childtime Learning Center's parking lot, and
installing a new pad mounted transformer.
