03.19 Notice of Completion Bid 167-081. SUBJECT
Final Acceptance of Bid No. 167 -08; W -676 Annual Water Main Renewal Project; and
authorization to file Notice of Completion with the County Recorder.
2. SUMMARY
The City of Orange Water Division has entered into a contract with Big Ben Engineering Inc. for
the Annual Water Main Renewal Project at various locations. The work has been completed to
the satisfaction of the Water Division.
The Annual Water Main Renewal Project was intended to replace approximately 3 -miles of
existing water main that has deteriorated over the years resulting in multiple water main leaks.
The existing cast iron water main was replaced with PVC pipe (C900) to accommodate the
corrosive soil condition in the area. The upgrade of this existing infrastructure will provide more
reliable water and fire protection services to the residents in the area.
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION
It is recommended that the City Council take the following action:
1) Accept Bid No. 167 -08; W -676 Annual Water Main Renewal Project as complete.
2) Authorize staff to file Notice of Completion with the County Recorder.
