Purchase of one Public Safety vehicle for the City of Orange Fire Department (OFD).
2. SUMMARY
Purchase of one vehicle for the OFD from National Auto Fleet Group, through a cooperative
purchasing agreement (CPA).
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION
1. Authorize the purchase of one four -wheel drive, crew cab pickup for OFD from National
Auto Fleet Group, Watsonville, CA in the amount of $ 53,483.
2. Authorize the City Manager to surplus the replaced vehicle.
4. FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are budgeted and available to cover the cost of the replacement vehicles as follows:

7. DISCUSSION and BACKGROUND
After review of the current vehicle replacement list, it was determined that the purchase of one
four wheel drive utility crew cab pickup was needed for the OFD. In conjunction with the
Finance Department, the purchase will be completed using CPA Contract No. 120716 with
National Auto Fleet Group of Watsonville, California.
Section 3.08.290 of the Orange Municipal Code states any agreement involving the acquisition of
materials, supplies, or equipment may be entered into with another government entity through
cooperative purchasing provisions.
In addition to the purchase of the four wheel drive utility crew cab pickup, ancillary equipment
and communications outfitting is needed. Additional funds have been set aside within the vehicle
replacement fund in the amount of $21,517. Any additional funds for outfitting is to be provided
by OFD.
The OFD vehicle being replaced is unit number 1178.
