Quitclaim of drainage easement at Lemon Grove Apartments located at 1148 N. Lemon Street.
2. SUMMARY
The drainage easement was dedicated to the City on Tract 3774 map, recorded in 1961. It was
accepted by the City on the map, but is no longer needed.
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION
Approve the quitclaim of the drainage easement quitclaim deed to Lemon Grove LP and
authorize the Mayor to sign the quitclaim deed.

7. DISCUSSION and BACKGROUND
The subject drainage easement was dedicated to the City on Tract 3774 map, recorded April
1961. It was accepted by the City on the map. It is shown on the tract maps as a "6 foot wide
easement for drainage purposes ". The easement is 6 feet wide and approximately 410 feet long.
With the construction of the new Lemon Grove apartment project on the parcel, the drainage
easement is no longer needed by the City. Staff does not foresee any future need for the drainage
easement across the parcel. The developer of the Lemon Grove apartments has requested the
City to quitclaim the easement back to the property owner and has paid the $1,000 quitclaim fee.
Staff recommends the City Council to approve the quitclaim of the drainage easement to the
property owner, and authorize the Mayor to sign the quitclaim deed.
