Request to accept and appropriate into the City's revenue budget a $30,000 donation from the
Orange Public Library Foundation (Foundation).
2. SUMMARY
This $30,000 donation will be used to purchase items as requested by the Library's Management
Team for enhanced public service. Acceptance of the revenue and its appropriation into the
FYI 6/17 budget are requested.
13. RECOMMENDATION I
1) Accept into the City's revenue budget a $30,000 donation from the Foundation, into
revenue account number 100.2001.48390.19322 (Foundation Donations).
2) Authorize the appropriation of $30,000 into the following expenditure account numbers:
100.2004.55131.19322 — Furniture, Machinery, Equip (Foundation) $20,000
100.2017.55131.19322 — Furniture, Machinery, Equip (Foundation) $10,000

Library to enhance sharing of information, resources, and financial support for library
facilities, services and programs.
7. DISCUSSION and BACKGROUND
The Foundation is donating $30,000 to meet various Library needs. The generous dollar amount
coming from the Foundation includes:
• $10,000 to refresh the Steve Ambriz Story Time Room at the Orange Public Library &
History Center. This popular space is used by families sharing books together. Funds
would purchase comfortable seating, furniture, and new decor.
• $20,000 for Media Equipment for the Orange Public Library & History Center. The
Library and Foundation present many popular film screenings throughout the year,
including the Summer Reading Club Film Fest and Winter Documentary Series. Funds
would purchase a larger, ceiling- mounted projection screen, ceiling- mounted projector,
and speakers.
The Orange Public Library will publicize the Foundation's contributions in a variety of ways,
including bookplates where appropriate, and credit for programming support on the Library's
website, flyers, and calendars.
