A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO PAUL HAMILTON AND COMMENDING HIM
FOR OVER THIRTY YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED PUBLIC SERVICE.
WHEREAS, on July 1, 1986, Paul Hamilton began his career with the City of Orange at the
Water Division of the Public Works Department as a Water Maintenance Worker 1; and
WHEREAS, Paul's dedication to his work would continue to accrue and on April 20, 1987,
he was promoted to the position of Water Maintenance Worker II; and
WHEREAS, Paul distinguished himself as an equipment operator and on November 17, 1987,
he was promoted to the position of Water Equipment Operator I; and
WHEREAS, within a short period of time, Paul's talents positioned him to be promoted for
the third time within two years and he was promoted to the position of Water Skilled Maintenance
Worker; and
WHEREAS, over the next two years, Paul would leverage his skills as a backhoe operator,
welder, skilled mason, and crane operator, and on April 30, 1996, he was promoted to Water Equipment
Operator II; and
WHEREAS, Paul continued to improve as a leader and refine his craft and he left an indelible
mark on the numerous water facilities he built out of masonry block and the miles of pipe he welded
for pump stations; and
WHEREAS, in 2003, Paul felt that he needed another challenge so he migrated from the Water
Division to the Maintenance and Operations Division of the Public Works Department to serve as an
Equipment Operator II where he replaced miles of concrete sidewalks and performed hundreds of
welding repairs while serving the citizens of Orange for the remainder of his career; and
WHEREAS, over the last 30 years, Paul has received numerous accolades from the public and
City Departments for his exceptional customer service and attention to detail. He is a member of our
Orange family whose diligent hard work and commitment to quality will leave a lasting legacy within
the Public Works Department and throughout the City.
WHEREAS, Paul has always been an extremely dedicated City employee and steward of the
City's resources. He is the embodiment of the City's values of teamwork, integrity, and excellence.
WHEREAS, as a devoted husband and father it is certain that Paul will be found enjoying time
with his wife Denise and his children, Alison and Joey, or fishing for the `one that got away'.
NOW THEREFORE, I, Teresa "Tita" Smith, Mayor of the City of Orange, on behalf of the
entire Orange City Council, hereby extend sincere gratitude to Paul Hamilton for over 30 years of
service and best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement.

3.23 Purchase of one Public Safety Vehicle for Orange Fire Department. (C2500.H)
ACTION: 1) Authorized the purchase of one piece of pumper equipment for the Orange
Fire Department from Pierce Manufacturing, located in Appleton, WI, in the amount of
$777,640; 2) Authorized the purchase of equipment and supplies needed to outfit the
pumper from various vendors (lowest qualified bidder) in the amount of $82,870; 3)
Authorized the purchase of communication equipment, including radio(s), mobile data
computer and GPS unit to outfit new pumper to current OFD standards in the amount of
$17,959; 4) Authorized the transfer of $10,000 from: 790.1601.56033.19640 (Info Tech
Upgrades) to 790.3021.56032.12955 (Mobile Data Computers); and 5) Authorized the City
Manager to surplus the replaced vehicle.

A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Orange expressing appreciation to Victor
Uribe and commending him for over forty years of loyal and dedicated public service.

A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Orange expressing appreciation to Paul
Hamilton and commending him for over thirty years of loyal and dedicated public service.
ACTION: Approved.
3.26 RESOLUTION NO. 10958 (S4000.0)
A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Orange accepting certain roads and streets
into the City Street system.
ACTION: Approved.
