1. SUBJECT
Third Amendment to Agreement No. 5764 with Merchants Landscape, Inc. for City parks
landscape maintenance services to extend the term for a 90 -Day period for an amount not to
exceed $137,453.67.
2. SUMMARY
Extend the current Agreement with Merchant's Landscape for 90 -days from July 1, 2016 through
September 30, 2016 while staff completes its evaluation of proposals for City parks landscape
maintenance services.
1 3. RECOMMENDED ACTION
Approve the third Amendment to Agreement No. 5764 and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk
to execute.
14. FISCAL IMPACT
Upon adoption of the proposed FY17 annual budget, funds will be available to cover the cost of
the amount as follows:
100.7022.51420.00000 (Maintenance Contracts) $ 137,453.67

6. GENERAL PLAN IMPLEMENTATION
Natural Resources Element Goal 5.1: Maintain existing City parks at levels that provide
maximum recreational benefit to City residents.
17. DISCUSSION and BACKGROUND I
The current 5 -year Agreement No. 5764 with Merchants Landscape, Inc. for landscape
maintenance services of City parks terminates June 30, 2016. Community Services staff
advertised Request for Proposals No. 156 -37 for landscape maintenance services of City Parks
and received proposals on April 26, 2016.
Four (4) proposals were received for City parks landscape maintenance services. The proposals
are currently being evaluated by City staff and require additional time. Staff anticipates
completing this review in the next 60 days. Staff recommends the current Agreement with
Merchants Landscape, Inc. be extended to provide adequate time for staff to complete its
evaluation of the proposals.
This extension of the Merchants Landscape Agreement will be for the same current monthly
amount of $45,817.89, totaling $137,453.67 for three months.
