1. SUBJECT
Contract Change Order No. 1 and Final for Agreement No. 6292, Bid No. 156 -21; SP -3937;
Annual Concrete Replacement Project at Various Locations, Fiscal Year 2015 -16 and approval of
fund transfer.
2. SUMMARY
This Contract Change Order authorizes payment for additional concrete repair work on the
sidewalks, curb and gutters, cross gutters, spandrels, ADA wheelchair access ramps, and
driveways at various locations. The total cost for this change order is $102,759.
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION __71
Approve Contract Change Order No. 1 and Final in the amount of $102,759 to EBS General
Engineering, Inc. for the extra work.

6. GENERAL PLAN IMPLEMENTATION
Infrastructure Element Goal 3.0 Ensure adequate maintenance of public rights -of -way to enhance
public safety and improve circulation.
Policy 3.1: Continue to maintain and repair sidewalks and pavement surfaces on public rights -of-
way.
7. DISCUSSION and BACKGROUND
The City Council awarded the Annual Concrete Replacement Project at Various Locations, FY
2015 -16 to EBS General Engineering, Inc. on December 8, 2015.
The unit bid prices received from EBS General Engineering, Inc. were very favorable. Public
Works Staff added approximately 4,397 square feet of cross gutter and spandrels, 200 linear feet
of arterial curb and gutter, 500 square feet of arterial driveway and 43 ADA sidewalk wheelchair
access ramps to this project. We also repaired concrete work for the Water Division in 3 different
locations due to damage from water leaks.
The original contract amount was $506,500. This Contract Change Order represents a 20%
increase in construction costs to $609,259.
