SUBJECT Award of contract for Bid No. 156 -27, OCIAC Security Cameras and Access Control Installation Project. 2. SUMMARY Bids for Orange County Intelligence Assessment Center ( OCIAC) Security Cameras and Access Control Installation Project were received and opened on January 21, 2016. Two (2) bidders responded to the Notice Inviting Bids. The apparent low bidder is Convergint Technologies LLC., Orange, CA for $57,300.00. The engineer's estimate was 50,000.00. 3. RECOMMENDED ACTION Award the contract in the amount of $57,300.00 to Convergint Technologies, LLC. and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the necessary documents on behalf of the City. 4. Policy 6.1: Provide the Police Department with adequate personnel, equipment and state- of -the- art technology to effectively combat crime, meet existing and projected service demands, and provide crime prevention programs. These resources should be provided prior to anticipated needs. 7. DISCUSSION and BACKGROUND This project consists of furnishing and installing security cameras and access control on all doors to enhance security of the East Police Substation. The OCIAC currently leases the former east - end police substation on Fort Road. The City of Anaheim through its 2014 Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI) Grant Program has awarded the City $75,000 to implement security upgrades to the facility. The proposed improvements include an exterior video camera surveillance system, key card access equipment, and a building intrusion alarm system. Informal bids were advertised for three weeks, and bids were opened on January 21, 2016. Two bids were received as follows: 1) Convergint Technologies LLC 2) Cyberwatch Security Communications $ 57,300.00 $ 90,176.00 Installation is scheduled to begin in early March 2016 and is expected to be completed within thirty (30) calendar days. 8.
