SUBJECT: FY 14 Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI) Grant: J 11 Orange County Intelligence Assessment Center ( OCIAC) Security Upgrade Project Allocation. 2. SUMMARY: The Anaheim /Santa Ana Urban Areas UASI has authorized a reimbursement grant award to the Orange Police Department in the amount not to exceed $75,000 for security upgrades to the OCIAC. All funds must be expended by March 31, 2016 3. RECOMMENDED ACTION: 1. Accept into the City's revenue budget a $75,000 grant from the Anaheim /Santa Ana Urban Areas UASI into revenue account number 100.4081.45495.20263 (Police - Homeland Security FY 14 UASI J 1 OCIAC Security Upgrade Project). 2. Authorize the appropriation of $75,000 into expenditure account number 100.4081.55131.20263 (Police - Homeland Security- FY14 UASI J11 OCIAC Security Upgrade Project). 4. FISCAL IMPACT: Upon appropriation, funds will be available to the cover the cost of the security upgrades as follows: 100.4081.55131.20263 (FY14 UASI J11 OCIAC Security Upgrade Project) $75,000 ITEM 2,1k 1 1/12/16 OPrinted on Recycled Paper 5. STRATEGIC PLAN GOAL(S): 1. Provide for a safe community a. Provide staffing and resources to deliver services that ensure public safety. 16 GENERAL PLAN IMPLEMENTATION Public Safety Goal 8.0 Emphasize emergency preparedness both within City Hall and throughout the community. Policy 8.2: Coordinate disaster preparedness with other public and private agencies. 17. DISCUSSION and BACKGROUND: J The OCIAC currently leases the former east -end police substation on Fort Road. The City of Anaheim through its 2014 UASI Grant Program has awarded the City $75,000 to implement security upgrades to the facility. The proposed improvements include an exterior video camera surveillance system, key card access equipment, and a building alarm system. The funding is in addition to the original $10,347 in FY 14 UASI training monies provided to the Police and Fire Department. The grant period is from January 14, 2015 to March 31, 2016. 18.
