OPLF is donating $33,545.00 to meet various Library needs. The generous dollar amounts

requests for new and bestselling materials are high. Technology /computer books
and books on job hunting /careers are especially needed.
• $2,000 for Juvenile Graphic Novels. Due to the increasing popularity of children's
graphic novels, this collection was recently created. Funds are needed to expand
this collection.
• $11,045 for Local History. Funds from the Foundation's "Raise Your Paddle" at its
Legacy Awards and Celebration Gala will be used for digitization and to purchase a new
scanner for the Local History Center.
• $10,000 for Furniture for the OPL & HC. Funds will purchase new chairs for use at
computer stations and chairs with laptop trays, which will provide additional
seating for library patrons using laptops and tablets.
• $500 to fund Children's Programming. Funds will be used to provide 12 scholarships in
memory of local artist Emigdio Vasquez for low income students to attend a special one -
day art class at the library.
