SUBJECT Appropriate $22,500 from the TSIP Area B Fund 284 into project 30012 Tustin/Lincoln Intersection Widening. 2. SUMMARY Public Works was successful in obtaining Comprehensive Transportation Funding Program (CTFP) funds through the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) for the Tustin/Lincoln Intersection Widening which requires a 25% city match amounting to $22,500. 3. RECOMMENDED ACTION Authorize the appropriation of $22,500 from the TSIP Area B Fund (284) unreserved fund balance to expenditure account number 284.5011.56330.30012, Capital Projects — Tustin St. and Lincoln Ave. Intersection Widening 4. FISCAL IMPACT Upon appropriation, funds will be available in the following account: 284.5011.56330.30012 Tustin St. and Lincoln Ave. Intersection Widening $22,500 5. STRATEGIC PLAN GOAL(S) lb. GENERAL PLAN IMPLEMENTATION Circulation & Mobility Elements Goal 2.0 Provide an effective regional transportation network. Policy 2.5 Ensure that transportation facilities and improvements do not degrade the quality of Orange's commercial and residential areas. 7. DISCUSSION and BACKGROUND Public Works applied for funding from the OCTA and was successful in obtaining a CTFP grant to widen the Tustin/Lincoln Intersection. The project will add a dedicated second left turn lane on eastbound Lincoln Ave. to northbound Tustin St. The grant requires a 25% match which will be added to the $67,500 granted for the right -of -way phase. Once this appropriation is approved staff can begin negotiations with the affected property owners for right -of -way acquisition. More funds (about $360,000) were approved but will be awarded to the City for the actual construction efforts in fiscal year 2015 -16. 8. ATTACHMENTS .
