7. DISCUSSION and BACKGROUND
Public Works applied for funding from the OCTA and was successful in obtaining a CTFP grant
to widen the Tustin/Lincoln Intersection. The project will add a dedicated second left turn lane
on eastbound Lincoln Ave. to northbound Tustin St.
The grant requires a 25% match which will be added to the $67,500 granted for the right -of -way
phase. Once this appropriation is approved staff can begin negotiations with the affected property
owners for right -of -way acquisition. More funds (about $360,000) were approved but will be
awarded to the City for the actual construction efforts in fiscal year 2015 -16.
