The following claim(s) have been received and investigated by the City Attorney's Office
and/or the Risk Manager. After a thorough investigation with the involved departments, it is the
recommendation of the City Attorney's Office that the claim(s) be denied:

7. DISCUSSION and BACKGROUND
a. Claim for damages from Mary Lou Taylor alleging property damage to her lawn
caused by City tree roots.
b. Claim for damages from Nina Lueras alleging property damage to her vehicle when a
banner came lose during a high wind event. Claimant was compensated by the banner
company which owned the sign.
c. Claim for damages from Lambert Avellana alleging property damage to his block
wall and pool caused by a tree falling during a high wind event.
d. Claim for damages from Robert Schaal alleging property damage caused by a water
surge from the meter.
