GENERAL PLAN IMPLEMENTATION Infrastructure Element Goal 1.0: Ensure water, sewer, and storm drain systems that meet the needs of residents and businesses. Policy 1.1: Provide sufficient levels of water, sewer, and storm drain service throughout the community. 7. DISCUSSION and BACKGROUND The City Council awarded the Sewer Line Replacement at Various Locations Project on February 11, 2014 meeting to Ramona, Inc. Since the bid prices are very favorable, staff recommends issuing a change order to add two (2) additional streets with approximate 700 linear feet of sewer mainline. These additional locations have been requiring a higher than normal level of maintenance service for several reasons but generally it is due to offset joints, tree roots, broken sections, and /or being undersized been identified by the Sewer Maintenance crew. This Contract Change Order addresses the maintenance issues by replacing existing damaged 6" lines with approximately 700 linear feet of 8" clay lines and reconnecting the service laterals. The Original Contract amount was $694,025.00. This Contract Change Order No. 1 represents a 14.7% increase from the original contract amount bringing the final contract amount to $796,500.00 8.
