SUBJECT Consultant Services Agreement between Bureau Veritas North America, Inc. and the City of Orange for Plan Review Services for Fiscal Year 2014 -15. 2. SUMMARY The City Council is requested to approve a new Consultant Services Agreement between Bureau Veritas North America, Inc. and the City of Orange for Fire Department Plan Review Services in an amount not to exceed $70,000. The Fire Department is requesting the Consultant Agreement to provide for continued Fire Department Plan Review Services. Plan Review fees paid for by the builder offset the costs for Plan Review services. 3. RECOMMENDED ACTION Approve the renewed agreement between the City of Orange and Bureau Veritas North America, Inc. Amount not to exceed $70,000 for Fiscal Year 2014 -15. Authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the agreement on behalf of the City. 4. FISCAL IMPACT Upon approval, funds are budgeted and available to cover the cost of Plan Review Services as follows: 100.3012.51780.00000 Other Contractual Services $70,000.00 5. GENERAL PLAN IMPLEMENTATION Public Safety Goal 3.0: Protect lives and property of Orange residents and businesses from urban and wildland fire hazards. Policy 3.1: Continue to identify and evaluate new potential fire hazards and fire hazard areas. 7. DISCUSSION and BACKGROUND Bureau Veritas North America, Inc. is one of two Plan Review Service providers for the Fire Department. A request for proposal process was performed at the beginning of 2008 and Bureau Veritas North America, Inc. was selected for their services for a portion of the Fire Department's Plan Review needs. Bureau Veritas is honoring last year's fee schedule for FY2014 -15. Based upon the Fire Department's experience with Bureau Veritas North America, Inc., a new contract is recommended. 8.
