SUBJECT A second amendment to an existing consultant services agreement with CSG Consultants, Inc., a private consultant firm, to provide plan review and field inspection services for the Building Division of the Community Development Department. 2. SUMMARY One of the goals of the Community Development Department is to provide timely and exemplary service to the community and those involved in the construction trade. The Building Division continues to experience a temporary staffing shortage at the position of Building Inspector. This contract amendment will continue to augment our existing staff with the use of a professional consultant for the next several months. 3. RECOMMENDATION Approve and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute an amendment to an existing professional service contract with CSG Consultants, Inc., not to exceed an additional $20,000.00, for a total contract amount of $110,000.00. 4. FISCAL IMPACT Funds in the amount of $20,000.00 are available in the following account of the Building Division's budget: 100.6033.51780.00000 — Other Contractual Services. These funds are from salary savings based on current vacancies as well as developer paid fees for plan check services. 5. STRATEGIC PLAN GOAL(S) Goal 4. Provide outstanding public service. GENERAL PLAN IMPLEMENTATION Economic Development Element Goal 3.0: Encourage economic development efforts through outreach and maintenance of a proactive business environment. 7. DISCUSSION and BACKGROUND There continues to be a need to utilize the services of CSG Consultants, Inc. to assist staff with the plan review and inspection of structures for compliance with local ordinances and State laws pertaining to the building code. This will assist staff during a busy period while the Building Division is not fully staffed. The funds for this first amendment are from salary savings within the Community Development Department and developer paid fees for plan check services. 8.
