1. SUBJECT
Request to accept into the City's revenue budget and to appropriate a $6,283.00 payment from
the Santiago Library System to Orange Public Library.
2. SUMMARY
The Santiago Library System is paying $6,283.00 to the Library. These funds are a
reimbursement for inter - library delivery service of library materials and telecommunications
between Orange County library systems. Acceptance of this revenue and its appropriation into
the FY 13 -14 budget are requested.
3. RECOMMENDATION / ACTION
1) Accept in the City's revenue budget a $6,283.00 payment from the Santiago Library
System into revenue account #100 - 2001 - 48390 -19988 (Donations); and
2) Appropriate the Santiago Library System payment to account #100- 2001 -53301 -19988
(Library Books).
4. FISCAL IMPACT
The Library's available funds for library books will increase by $6,283.00 in FY 13 -14 thanks to
these funds from the Santiago Library System.

6. DISCUSSION and BACKGROUND
The Santiago Library System is a cooperative arrangement designed to maximize resources by
providing programs and services jointly where it is mutually beneficial to the local population.
An important role is facilitating the sharing of local collections by providing delivery of materials
among the member libraries and communicating with all libraries through various committees
and joint ventures. The Santiago Library System enhances the reference capabilities of these
libraries by furnishing additional resources and expertise when needed to meet patrons' requests.
The $6,283 reimbursement from the Santiago Library System will be used where the library best
sees fit, for the purchase of new library books.
