SUBJECT Third Amendment to Agreement with Orange County Striping Service for the installation of traffic striping, pavement markings and raised pavement markers at various locations within the City of Orange, Bid No. 101 -39. 2. SUMMARY Orange County Striping Service was awarded a contract, on a competitive basis, for traffic striping for the City in August 2011. The contract allows annual renewals for up to three years based on mutual agreement. It is proposed to renew the contract in an amount not to exceed $116,150.00. 3. RECOMMENDED ACTION Approve Third Amendment to Contract AGR -5785 with Orange County Striping Services, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $116,150.00 for installation of traffic striping, pavement markings and raised pavement markers at various locations within the City of Orange, and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute on behalf of the City. 4. FISCAL IMPACT Upon adoption of the 2014 -15 Budget funds will be available in the following account: 100.5074.51700.00000 Contractual Services $116,150.00 5. GENERAL PLAN IMPLEMENTATION Growth Management Goal 1.0 Reduce traffic congestion within the City. Policy 3.0: Ensure adequate maintenance of public rights -of -way to enhance public safety and improve circulation. Policy 3.3: Continue to design, install, and maintain signals, signage, street lights, and traffic control devices within rights -of -way. 7. DISCUSSION and BACKGROUND In 2011, Orange County Striping Service was awarded a contract on a competitive basis, for installation of traffic striping, pavement markings and raised pavement markers at various locations within the City of Orange. This contract has the option for annual extensions up to three (3) years, as agreed upon by both parties. This is the third contract extension. This amendment extends the repainting and installation of traffic striping through July 31, 2015. The contractor, in compliance with terms of his agreement, has indicated there will be no fee increase during the term of the amended agreement. Staff recommends extending the Orange County Striping Service contract for a twelve -month period until July 31, 2015. 8.
