5.0 Meet the educational, cultural, civic, information, recreation, business, and life -long learning
needs of residents through the provision of library resources.
5.4 Promote collaborations among community groups, educational institutions and the Public
Library to enhance sharing of information, resources, and financial support for library
facilities, services and programs.
7. DISCUSSION and BACKGROUND
OPLF is donating $12,200.00 to meet various Library needs. The generous dollar amounts
coming from the Orange Public Library Foundation include:
$2,200 to purchase laptops. Due to the advanced age and increased circulation of the
library's current laptops, new laptops are needed for patrons as well as staff.
• $10,000 to purchase two bilingual touch - screen computers loaded with 60 educational
software games for young children. These computers would replace the current
educational stations at Taft and El Modena Branch Libraries that have chronic sound and
technical problems due to age.
The Orange Public Library will publicize OPLF's contributions in a variety of ways, including
announcements on the Library's website and City's Facebook page.
