City of Orange
Design Review Committee
June 17, 2026
The Design Review Committee of the City of Orange, California convened on June 17, 2026,
at 5:30 p.m. in a Regular Meeting in the Council Chamber, 300 E. Chapman Avenue, Orange,
California.
1. OPENING/CALL TO ORDER
Chair Farfan called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
1.1 PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Committee Member Adrienne Gladson led the flag salute.
1.2 ROLL CALL
Present: McDermott, Grosse, Gladson, and Farfan
Absent: Skorpanich
2. PUBLIC COMMENTS
None
3. NEW BUSINESS
3.1. A request to install a new halo-lit canopy mounted wall sign and reface an
existing pole sign on a building located in the Old Towne Historic District
located at 202 N. Glassell Street(DRC No. 25-0120).
Planning Technician Lauren Briggs, presented a summary of the proposed project.
Public Speakers:
The following spoke in opposition to the project:
Diana Zdenek and Jonathan Zimmerman.
Committee Members discussed the lighting and materials used for the proposed
signage and its compliance with the Historic Preservation Design Standards.
A motion was made by Committee Member Grosse, seconded by Committee Member
Gladson, to continue Item 3.1 to a date uncertain. The motion carried by the following
vote:
Ayes: McDermott, Grosse, Gladson, and Farfan
Noes: None
Absent: Skorpanich

4. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
The next Regular Design Review Committee meeting will be held on Wednesday, July
1, 2026 at 5:30 p.m., in the Council Chamber.
