HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-29-2026 Urgency Ordinance Moratorium on Massage Establishments Extension- PH NoticeCITY OF ORANGE NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING EXTENSION OF INTERIM ORDINANCE NO. 08-26 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Orange will hold a Public Hearing at a Special Meeting of the City Council on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, in the City Council Chamber, 300 E. Chapman Avenue, Orange, California, to consider extension of interim Ordinance No. 08-26 establishing a moratorium on approving new massage business permits. SYNOPSIS: This ordinance extends interim Urgency Ordinance No. 08-26, which temporarily prohibits the establishment of new massage businesses and the issuance of new massage business permits within the City. The extension is intended to preserve the status quo while the City evaluates potential amendments to its regulations governing massage establishments, including measures to address land use compatibility, public health and safety concerns, and the prevention of unlawful activities associated with certain massage businesses. A certified copy of the full text of the Ordinance is posted in the City Clerk’s Office at 300 E Chapman Avenue, Orange. FURTHER INFORMATION:All interested persons may be heard on any relevant matter relating to the proposed action by attending the public hearing in person; or by submitting written comments as set forth in the June 29, 2026, City Council agenda.
