A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ORANGE ADOPTING THE
2025 LOCAL HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Orange recognizes the threat that natural
hazards pose to people and property within the City of Orange; and
WHEREAS, the City of Orange has prepared a multi-hazard mitigation plan, hereby
known as the 2025 Local Hazard Mitigation Plan, in accordance with federal laws, including
the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act,as amended;the National
Flood Insurance Act of 1968, as amended; and the National Dam Safety Program Act, as
amended; and
WHEREAS, the 2025 Local Hazard Mitigation Plan identifies mitigation goals and
actions to reduce or eliminate long-term risk to people and property in the City of Orange from
the impacts of future hazards and disasters; and
WHEREAS, adoption by the City Council of the City of Orange demonstrates its
commitment to hazard mitigation and achieving the goals outlined in the 2025 Local Hazard
Mitigation Plan.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Orange
as follows:
Section 1. In accordance with the City Council's authority and procedures for adopting
resolutions, the City Council adopts the 2025 Local Hazard Mitigation Plan.
Section 2. The City acknowledges that plan content specific to the City of Orange may
require revisions to satisfy external review and approval requirements, and the City Council
intends that administrative, non-substantive revisions made after adoption to obtain such
approval will not require the City to re-adopt subsequent iterations of the plan.
Section 3. Subsequent plan updates prepared after the approval period for this plan will
be presented to the City Council for consideration and, if approved, will require adoption by
separate resolution.
