Orange Redevelopment Agency's Small Business Assistance Programs for the Orange Merged
and Amended Redevelopment Project
Area.Discussion - Project Manager, Barbara Messick provided a staff report on this seventh loan
program available for small businesses.
Council expressed apprehension over the possibility of no-interest loans with a 25%
forgiveness clause, especially given the current economy; and that this would be an additional $300,000
over the existing $500,000 loan
fund.It was noted, however, that these are redevelopment funds, not general funds, that are used
to assist
businesses.Council further noted a preference to observe the success of the new Orange Goes
