LEGAL NOTICE OF DESIGN REVIEW COMMITTEE
PUBLIC MEETING
MEETING LOCATION: City Council Chamber, 300 E. Chapman Avenue, Orange.
Members of the public can also access meetings on Spectrum Cable
Channel 3 and AT&T U-verse Channel 99 and streamed live and on-
demand on the City’s website.

TIME: 5:30 P.M. (or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard)
SUBJECT: DRC25-0022; SHAFFER STREET GARAGE DEMOLITION
PROPERTY LOCATION: 442 & 444 S. Shaffer St | APN: 390-414-21
REQUEST: The applicant proposes to demolish an existing detached 400 square
foot two-car garage in the Old Towne Historic District located at 442-444
S. Shaffer Street. The property is located in the Old Towne Historic
District, and it is designated as a non-contributing property.
ENVIRONMENTAL
INFORMATION:
The proposed project is categorically exempt from the provisions of the
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) per State CEQA Guidelines
Section 15303 (Class 3 – New Construction or Conversion of Small
Structures) because the project consists of the demolition of an existing
non-contributing garage. There is no environmental public review
required for a Categorical Exemption

FURTHER INFORMATION: All interested parties may submit comments and may be heard on any
relevant matter relating to the proposed actions by mail, email, voicemail,
or in-person, as set forth in the July 16, 2025, Design Review Committee
agenda to be posted on the City’s website at www.cityoforange.org. To
