Chapman Avenue, Orange, California. • 1. OPENING/CALL TO ORDER Chair Skorpanich called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. 1.1 PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Chair Skorpanich led the flag salute. 1.2 ROLL CALL Present: Farfan, McDermott, Grosse, Ledesma, Lopez, and Skorpanich Absent: None 2. PUBLIC COMMENTS None. 3. CONSENT CALENDAR All matters listed under the Consent Calendar are considered to be routine by the Design Review Committee and will be enacted by one motion. There will be no separate discussion of said items unless members of the Design Review Committee, staff or the public request specific items removed from the Consent Calendar for separate action. 3.1. A request to demolish an existing non-contributing detached garage, and construct a new detached garage at the rear of an existing . duplex at 454 S. Shaffer Street(Design Review No. 5117-23). ACTION: Approval of Design Review No. 5117-23 by the Design Review Committee. Approval of the Consent Calendar, A motion was made by Committee Member McDermott, seconded by Committee Member Grosse, to approve the Consent Calendar. The motion carried by the following vote: Ayes: Farfan, McDermott,_Grosse, Ledesma, Lopez, and Skorpanich Noes: None Absent: None Page 1 of 2 Design Review Committee Minutes August 7,2024 4. NEW BUSINESS 4.1. A request to construct a 484-square-foot addition to an existing one-story single-family residence at 527 E. Sycamore Avenue(Design Review No. 5141-24). Public Speakers: The following spoke on behalf of the project: Doug Ely, Architect; and Mike Ontiveros, Owner. A motion was made by Committee Member McDermott, seconded by Committee Member Grosse, to approve Design Review 5141-24. The motion carried by the following vote: Ayes: . Farfan, McDermott, Grosse, Ledesma, Lopez, and Skorpanich Noes: None Absent: None 4.2. A request to construct a new residence and a detached rear residence and Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) to replace a fire destroyed residence at 221 S. Earlham Street(Design Review No.5090-22). Item 4.2 was removed from the Agenda without discussion. 5. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:48 p.m. The next Regular Design Review Committee meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 5:30 p.m., in the Council Chamber.
