The Parks Planning & Community Events Commission of the City of Orange, California
convened on March 19, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. in a Regular Meeting in the Council Chamber, 300
E. Chapman Avenue, Orange, California.
1. OPENING/CALL TO ORDER
Chair Fields called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
1.1 PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Led by Commissioner Adam Litwin.
1.2 ROLL CALL
Commissioner Ahlswede joined the meeting at 5:33 p.m.
Present Freeman, Litwin, Ahlswede, de Vries, and Fields
Absent Perez, and Kushon
2. PUBLIC COMMENTS
None
3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
3.1. Approval of minutes of the City of Orange Park Planning & Community Events
Commission Regular Meeting held on January 16, 2024.
A motion was made by Vice Chair Freeman, seconded by Commissioner Litwin, to
approve the minutes as presented. The motion carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Freeman, Litwin, Ahlswede, de Vries, and Fields
Noes: None
Absent: Perez, and Kushon
4. COMMISSION BUSINESS
4.1. Presentation of design of the Skatepark at Grijalva Park Project.
Commission provided feedback on the design of the Skatepark.
4.2. Presentation of design of the New Park in West Orange.
Commission provided feedback on the design of the new park in West Orange.

5. COMMUNITY SERVICES DIRECTOR'S REPORT
Recreation Services Manager Danielle Valadez provided an update on the Community
Partnership program, Movie in the Park subcommittee meeting, and the Concerts in
the Park subcommittee meeting.
6. ADJOURNMENT
The next Regular Park Planning & Community Events Commission meeting will be held
on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 5:30 p.m., in the Council Chamber.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:41 p.m.
