MINUTES
The Planning Commission of the City of Orange, California convened on June 3, 2024, at
5:30 p.m. in a Regular Meeting in the Council Chamber, 300 E. Chapman Avenue, Orange,
California.
1.OPENING/CALL TO ORDER
Chair Vazquez called the meeting to order at 5:34 p.m.
1.1 PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Commissioner Martinez led the flag salute.
1.2 ROLL CALL
Present:Martinez, Vejar, Maldonado, Tucker, McCormack, and Vazquez
Absent:Simpson
2.PUBLIC COMMENTS
Todd Smith spoke on Orange Heights Master Plan/Santiago Hills Phase II.
3.CONSENT CALENDAR
3.1.Approval of meeting minutes of the City of Orange Planning Commission Regular
Meeting held on May 20, 2024.
ACTION: Approved minutes as presented.
Approval of the Consent Calendar
A motion was made by Vice Chair Martinez, seconded by Commissioner Tucker, to
approve the Consent Calendar. The motion carried by the following vote:

4.PUBLIC HEARING
4.1.Public Hearing to consider the recommendation of the Planning Commission that
the City Council adopt a proposed Ordinance updating Title 17 of the Orange
Municipal Code adding provisions related to director interpretations, City
exemption from the Zoning Ordinance, tie votes, and amending the appeal and
time extension provisions.
Chair Vazquez opened the public hearing at 5:59 p.m.; there being no speakers, Chair

Vazquez closed the public hearing at 5:59 p.m.
A motion was made by Commissioner Vejar, seconded by Commissioner McCormack,
to adopt Planning Commission Resolution No.19-24.
Resolution No. 19-24. A Resolution of the Planning Commission of the City of Orange
Recommending the City Council Approve an Ordinance Amending Title 17 of the
Orange Municipal Code to Add Provisions Related to Director Interpretations, City
Exemption from Title 17, Tie Votes, and Amending the Zoning Ordinance Appeal and
Time Extension Provisions.

5.ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:59 p.m.
