06-25-2024 ADU Ordinance Update PH NoticeCITY OF ORANGE NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ACCESSORY DWELLING UNIT ORDINANCE AMENDMENT NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Orange will hold a Public Hearing at a Regular Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, at the City Council Chamber, 300 E. Chapman Avenue, Orange to consider the following request: SUBJECT: Approval of an ordinance of the City Council of the City of Orange amending Title 17 (Zoning) of the Orange Municipal Code amending standards related to Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU) in response to recent changes in state law. APPLICANT: City of Orange LOCATION: Citywide ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION: This project is statutorily exempt under the California Environmental Quality Act (“CEQA”) pursuant to Public Resources Code Section 21080.17 and Title 14, California Code of Regulations Section 15282(h) which exempts adoption of an ordinance regarding accessory dwelling units, or second units, to implement provisions of Sections 65852.2 and 65852.22 of the Government Code. Additionally, this ordinance is categorically exempt pursuant to Sections 15303 (New Construction or Conversion of Small Structures) and 15305 (Minor Alterations in Land Use/Limitations).
