CITY CLER\; ORDINANCE NO. 38- 70 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE REPEALING SECTION 8203.4 OF THE ORANGE MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE REQUIRE-MENT FOR SHUT-OFF VALVES FOR MULTIPLE HOUSE GAS LINES.WHEREAS, Section 8203.4 of the Orange Municipal Code imposes a requirement that a multiple tenant building have an individual shut-off valve for each apartment for each separate house line, and WHEREAS, Section 1213(g) of the Uniform Plumbing Code, 1967 Edition, requires only that gas pipings supplying more than one building on anyone premises shall be equipped with separate shut-off valves to each building, and WHEREAS, the requirements of Section 1213(g) of the Uniform Plumbing Code are sufficient to protect the public health, safety and general welfare, separate shut-off valves for each apartment unit being unnecessary,NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE DOES ORDA IN AS FOLLOWS:SECTION I:Section 8203.4 of the Orange Municipal Code is hereby repealed, and after the effective date of this ordinance,all requirements for gas piping supplying more than one build-ing on anyone premises shall be governed by Section 1213 (g)and all other applicable provisions of the Uniform Plumbing Code, 1967 Edition.SECTION II:This ordinance shall be published once within fifteen 15) days after its passage in the Orange City News, a newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated in the City of Orange, and shall take effect thirty ( 30) days from and after the date of its final passage.ADOPTED this 24th day of November 1970.Mayof%1 ~C~ Y o~ II-- ---STATE OF CALIFORNIA )COUNTY OF ORANGE ) ss.cITY OF ORANGE )I, EMILY L.
