89 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ORANGE AMENDING CHAPTER 2.08
OF THE ORANGE MUNICIPAL CODE BY
ADDING SECTION 2.08.030 THEREOF
AND AUTHORIZING COMPENSATION OF THE
CITY COUNCIL AND MAYOR AS THE DIRECTORS
OF THE ORANGE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE AUTHORITY GRANTED
IN SECTION 33114 OF THE CALIFORNIA
HEALTH AND SAFETY
CODE.WHEREAS, Section 33114 of the California Health and
Safety Code authorizes the city council, as the legislative body of
the City, to establish a compensation level for the Members of
the Redevelopment Agency:
and WHEREAS, Section 33114.5 of the California Health and
Safety Code states that the compensation shall not exceed thirty
dollars 30.00) per member for each meeting of the Agency which
is attended by the member up to a maximum of four (4)
compensable meetings per month:
and WHEREAS, Resolution Number ORA-0001 established
the Orange Redevelopment Agency and appointed the members of
the city Council to serve as the members and Directors of the
Agency: and WHEREAS, the Directors of the orange
Redevelopment Agency have served in this capacity without compensation
since the establishment of the Agency
in 1983.NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ORANGE DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:Section 2.08.030 shall be added to Chapter 2.08
of the Orange Municipal Code
as follows:
Section I:A. Each member of the Orange Redevelopment
Agency shall receive the sum of $120.00 a month, based on attendance
at four meetings of the Agency each month. The salary shall
be charged to the Redevelopment Agency as follows: 20% to Fund 910:
40% to Fund 920; and 40% to
Fund 930.This compensation sha1l be payable
beginning October 13, 1989, and is payable at the same time and in the
same manner as the salaries paid to each of the Officers and employees
of
Section II:
A summary of this Ordinance shall be published and a
certified copy of the full text of this Ordinance shall be posted
in the Office of the city Clerk at least five (5) days prior to
the City Council meeting at which this Ordinance is to be
adopted. A summary of this Ordinance shall also be published
once within fifteen (15) days after this Ordinance's passage in
the Orange City News, a newspaper of general circulation
published and circulated in the City of Orange. The City Clerk
shall post in the Office of the City Clerk a certified copy of
the full text of such adopted Ordinance along with the names of
those city Council members voting for and against the Ordinance
in accordance with Government Code Section 36933. This Ordinance
shall take effect thirty (30) days from and after the date of its
final passage.
