ORD-21-88 AMENDING CHAPTER 10.38 OF THE OMC TO REVISE CONCERNING PROHIBITED PARKING IN ARTERIAL INTERSECTION VISION ZONESORDINANCE NO. 21- 88 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE AMENDING CHAPTER 10.38 OF THE ORANGE MUNICIPAL CODE TO MAKE MINOR REVISION TO SECTION lO.38.040 CONCERNING PROHIBITED PARKING IN ARTERIAL INTERSECTION VISION ZONES.WHEREAS, on March 10, 1988, the City Council adopted Ordi-nance No. 10-88 which authorized the City Traffic Engineer to establish no parking zones on portions of streets designated as Intersection Vision Zones; and WHEREAS, the third paragraph of section 10.38.040 reads as follows:When an Intersection Vision Zone has been identified by signs and curb markings indicating no parking it shall be unlawful for any person to park or leave standing any vehicle in the posted Intersection Vision Zone." [ Emphasis added]WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City TrafficEngineerandtheCityCouncilthatIntersectionVisionZonesmaybeidentifiedbyeithersignsorcurbmarkingsandthatbothasign and curb markings are not necessary to identify anyparticularIntersectionVision Zone; and WHEREAS, the City Council directs that Section lO.38.040 be amended to implement the aforesaid intention.NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Orange ordains as follows: Section I:Chapter 10.38 of the Orange Municipal Code isherebyamendedtomodifythewordingandpunctuationofthethirdparagraphofSection10.38.040 to read as follows:When an Intersection Vision Zone has been identified byasignorcurbmarkingindicatingnoparking, it shall be unlawfulforanypersontoparkorleavestandinganyvehicleinthepostedormarkedIntersection Vision Zone. Section II:Except as modified in Section I of this Ordinance, all other provisions of Section 10.38.040 shall remain in fullforce section III: A summary of this Ordinance shall be published and a certified copy of the full text of this Ordinance shall be posted in the Office of the City Clerk at least five (5) days prior to the city Council meeting at which this Ordinance is to be adopted. A sum- mary of this Ordinance shall also be published once within fifteen 15) days after this Ordinance's passage in the Orange City News, a newspaper of general circulation, published, and circulated in the City of Orange. The City Clerk shall post in the Office of the city Cerk a certified copy of the full text of such adopted Ordi- nance along with the names of those City Council members voting for and against the Ordinance in accordance with Government Code section 36933.
