84 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ORANGE ADOPTING THE UNIFORM
SOLAR ENERGY CODE, 1979 EDITION, BY
REFERENCE,PROVIDING FOR REGULATION OF THE
INSTALLA-TION, MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR OF
SOLAR ENERGY SYSTEMS AND FIXING PENALTIES
FOR
VIOLATIONS.WHEREAS, Government Code Sections 50022,2 et seq.
provides for the adoptions of codes by reference;
and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to adopt the Uniform
Solar Energy Code, 1979 Edition, by reference;
and WHEREAS, the provisions of said Code shall apply to
the erection, installation, alteration, addition, repair,
reloca-tion, replacement, maintenance or use of any solar system
except as otherwise provide in said
Code.NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE
DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:SECTION
I:Chapter 15,26 of the Orange Municipal Code is hereby added
to read as
follows:Chapter 15.

Adoption
Violation--Penalty 15.26.010 Adoption. The Uniform Solar Energy Code,
1979 Edition,published by the Internation Association of Plumbing
and Mechanical Officials, is adopted by reference, The required copies are
on file in the Office of the City Clerk for use and examination by
the public,15.26,020 Violation--Penalty, A. Any person,
firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this Code shall be
deemed guilty of a separate of~ense tor each and every day or
portion thereof during which any violation of any of the provisions of this
Code is committed,continued, or permitted, and upon conviction of any
such violation such person shall be punishable by a fine of not more
than five hundred dollars, or by imprisonment for not more than six months,
or by both such fine and imprisonment, B. In addition, this Code
may be enfor-ced by injunction or other
SECTION II:
A summary of this Ordinance shall be published and a certified
copy of the full text of this Ordinance shall be posted in the Office
of the City Clerk at least five (5) days prior to the City Council
meeting at which this Ordinance is to be adopted, A summary of this
Ordinance shall also be published once within fifteen (15) days after
this Ordinance's passage in the Orange City News, a newspaper of
general circulation, published and circulated in the City of Orange,
The Clerk shall post in the Office of the City Clerk a certified
copy of the full text of such adopted Ordinance along with the names
of those City Council members voting for and against the Ordinance
in accordance with Government Code Section 36933, This Ordinance
shall take effect thirty (30) days from and after the date of its
final passage.
