ORD-06-84 ADOPTING THE UNIFORM HOUSING CODE 1979 EDITION PROVIDING FOR THE CONSERVATION OF HOUSING AND PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONJL_._____~...__ ORDINANCE NO, 6- 84 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE ADOPTING THE UNIFORM HOUS-ING CODE, 1979 EDITION, BY REFERENCE, PRO-VIDING FOR THE CONSERVATION AND REHABILI-TATION OF HOUSING, AND FIXING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION.WHEREAS, Health and Safety Code Section 17922 provides for the adoption of certain uniform building and housing codes; and WHEREAS, said State law provides that local governments shall impose substantially the same requirements as provided by State law in regard to such uniform building and housing codes; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Orange desires to provide for the adoption of more recent editions of such uniform building and housing codes.NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:SECTION I:Sections 15.08,010 and 15.08.020 of the Orange Municipal Code are hereby amended to read as follows:15.08.010 Adoption. The Uniform Housing Code, 1979 Edition,published by the International Conference of Building Officials, is adopted by reference. The required copies are on file in the office of the City Clerk for use and examination by the public.15,08,020 Violation--Penalty, A. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this Code shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and each such person shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each and every day or portion thereof during which any violation of any of the provisions of this Code is committed, continued, or permitted, and upon conviction of any such violation such person shall be punishable by a fine of not more than 500, or by imprisonment for not more than six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.B, In addition, this Code may be enforced by injunction or other appropriate civil remedy, SECTION II :A summary of this Ordinance shall be published and a certified copy of the full text of this Ordinance shall be posted in the Office of the City Clerk at least five (5) days prior to the n._______.__--"--meeting at which this Ordinance is to be adopted, A summary of this Ordinance shall also be published once within Fifteen (15) days after this Ordinance' s passage in the Orange City News, a newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated in the City of Orange. The City Clerk shall post in the office of the City Clerk a certified copy of the full text of such adopted Ordinance along with the names of those City Council members voting for and against the Ordinance, in accordance with Government Code Section 36933.
