RADIUS DEDI-CATIONS TO READ TWENTY-FIVE (
25) FEET AND TO PROVIDE FOR
ADDITIONAL DEDICATION IF NEEDED TO MEET
STATE REGULATIONS CONCERN-
ING HANDICAPPED PERSONS.HHEREAS, Ordinance No. 7-82
provided a completely revised Chapter 12.52 of the Orange
Municipal Code concerning street
dedications and improvementsi and WHEREAS, in the second paragraph of Section 12.
52.020 of said revised Chapter, it is incorrectly stated
that at intersections of other than arterial streets, the curb line radius
shall be not less than
fifteen (15) feet; and WHEREAS, correctly stated, the curb line
radius at an inter-section of non-arterial streets
should read "twenty-five (25) feet"instead
of "fifteen (15) feet"i and WHEREAS, since the adoption
of said Ordinance No. 7-82, the State of California Building
Code has been revised to impose addi-tional regulations for
the benefit of handicapped persons
using the public sidewalks and cropswalks; and VvHEREAS, because the
height of curbs, width of parkways and geometry of intersections
differ, it will be necessary, in certain instances, to require
the dedication of additional property in
orderto satisfy the said State regulations.NOt'v, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY

GE roES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:Section I:The second paragraph of Section
12.52.020 of the Orange Municipal Code
is hereby amended to read as follows:In
addition, at each intersection of an arterial street
intersecting with any other street there shall be dedication so as
to provide a curb line radius of not
less than thirty-two (32) feet. At intersections of other
streets there shall be dedication so as to provide a curb
line radius of not less than twenty-f~ve
25) feet. The Director of Public Works
may require additional dedication when
needed to comply with regulations concerning handicapped persons ~
mposed by the State of California. Further, the Dlrecto:
of Public Works may increase or decrease the requlre-ments stated
in this paragraph not more t~an twen~
y percent (20%) because of unique concerns In certaln

Section II:
A swmnary of this Ordinance shall be published and a certi-
fied copy of the full text of this Ordinance shall be posted
in the Office of the City Clerk at least five (5) days prior
to the City Council meeting at which this Ordinance is to be
adopted. A summary of this Ordinance shall also be published
once within fifteen (15) days after this Ordinance's passage
in the Orange City News, a newspaper of general circulation,
published and circulated in the City of Orange. The City
Clerk shall post in the Office of the City Clerk a certified
copy of the full text of such adopted Ordinance along with
the names of those City Council members voting for and against
the Ordinance in accordance with Government Code Section 36933.
This Ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days from and
after the date of its final passage.
