ORD-06-82 IMPOSING PARKING RESTRICTIONS ON THE CITY PARKING LOTS IN THE AREA OF CITY HALLORDINANCE NO. 6- 82 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE ADDING SECTION 10.24.100 TO THE ORANGEf.1UNICIPAL CODE I~1POSING PARK-ING RESTRICTIONS ON THE CITY PARKING LOTS IN THE AREA OF THE CITY HALL.WHEREAS, California Vehicle Code Section 22651(n) provides that a local ordinance may provide for the removal of vehicles which are unlawfully parked provided signs are posted giving notice of the removal; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Orange has restricted parking in the Civic Center Area by enactment of Ordinance No.34- 81; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Orange desires to ensure that the City parking lots are operated in an efficient manner; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Orange finds the removal of unlawfully parked vehicles is the appropriate manner in which to ensure efficient use of the City parking lots.NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORANGE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I:Section 10.24.100 is hereby added to the Orange Municipal Code to read as follows:10.24.100 Unlawfully Parked Vehicles In City Lots. If a vehicle is parked unlawfully pursuant to Section 10.24. 090 when such spaces have been designated as reserved and signs are posted that unlawfully parked vehicles will be towed away, any member of the Police Department authorized by the Chief of Police may remove the vehicle from the parking lot in the manner and subject to the requirements of the California Vehicle Code, Section 22650 et seo.SECTION I I:This Ordinance shall be published once within fifteen (15)days after its passage in the Orange City News, a newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated in the City of Orange, and shall take effect thir ty (30) days from and after the date of its final passage.ADOPTED this 23rd STATE OF CALI FORNIA ) COUNTY OF ORANGE ) ss CITY OF ORANG E ) I, MARILYN J.
